Charlotte Chamber Focus Groups

Strategic Planning Public Engagement Facilitation

Helping Charlotte Businesses Thrive

Staying connected and responsive to the local business community is an essential part of the Charlotte Chamber’s mission.

The Lee Institute conducted nine focus groups for initial work on the Charlotte Chamber’s Economic Strategic Plan. The team expertly drafted key questions, led the meetings, captured valuable input from multiple sectors and identified themes. They then consolidated that information into a report which was easily read and digested by our leadership committee. That work has served as the foundation for the planning process and has helped to guide us toward the initiatives which will have the greatest impact on Charlotte’s economy.
— Blair Stanford, Chief Operating Officer, Charlotte Chamber

In the fall of 2013 the Chamber commissioned the Lee Institute to conduct nine focus groups with local CEOs, asking about their priorities in economic development, job training, infrastructure, incentives and quality of life. These listening sessions were grouped by industry and included finance, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, arts and culture, and education. The Lee Institute drafted a final report summarizing the key themes of each group, the key themes and differences across industries, and our recommendations for priorities and investments moving forward.
