Rhonda Bethea is an executive on loan to The Lee Institute – a nonprofit organization that empowers other leaders, government agencies, community task forces, nonprofit boards and executive management teams to build great communities. In her role at Lee, Rhonda supports the CEO and Managing Director on projects related to facilitating nonprofit board strategic planning and leadership development for a wide range of nonprofit community organizations, agencies and initiatives.

Prior to joining the Lee team, from 2018-2021, Rhonda served in Bank of America’s Audit Division as General Auditor for Global Human Resources; Environmental, Social and Governance; Public Policy; as well as enterprise business services managed under the Chief Administrative Officer and Global Strategy & Enterprise Platform functions, including Corporate Communications; Corporate Security; Global Procurement; Global Real Estate Services; Local Markets Organization; and Strategic Initiatives. Rhonda also managed division-wide audit efforts for third-party and incentive compensation.

From 2010-2018, Rhonda led the Global Compensation and Benefits team in Bank of America’s Legal Department advising the company and its board committees on executive compensation, employee benefits, SEC disclosures and related regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Bank of America, Rhonda held various senior leadership positions at Time Warner Cable, Del Monte Foods, and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

Rhonda is fiercely dedicated to empowering and advancing our next generation of leaders. To this end, she serves on Bank of America’s Black Executive Advisory Council and previously served a three-year term as the Enterprise Executive Sponsor for Bank of America’s Black Professional Group. Additionally, Rhonda is a Trustee on the Loyola Marymount University (LMU) Board of Trustees and serves on the Advisory Boards of Teach For America – Charlotte/Piedmont Triad and Greater Enrichment Program, Inc.

Rhonda holds a BBA from LMU, a JD from Georgetown University Law Center and currently resides in Charlotte, NC.
